Jan Barboglio PortraitJAN BARBOGLIO
Raised on a cattle ranch steeped in tradition in Mexico, Jan Barboglio learned from an early age to appreciate the timeless wonderment of the culture around her. Jan is a true artist of interior design, creating top-quality, exclusive items for over two decades. Her decorative ironwork for the home, inspired by her roots in Mexico and the American southwest, is romantic, nostalgic, and always one-of-a-kind. Her ironwork, often infused with glass or wood, is completely hand made, and embossed with the artist’s signature along with fan inspirational poem or proverb. Items like tables, frames, ornaments, and goblets are also hand-finished, creating truly unique pieces that are as warm as they are rustic.

Jan describes her signature style as pretty, but masculine. The materials and the combination of materials are often unexpected and fit comfortably in homes styled from Spanish Colonial or Mediterranean to California and Classic. Her talent of combining materials that makes each object original and distinctive has become her trademark. Through the ongoing evolution of her work, Barboglio has been recognized for her insistence that everyday living should be easy, useful and magical.

AngusJAN’S SON ANGUS WILL BE ACCOMPANYING HER & PREVIEW HIS BAR TOOLS INSPIRED BY THE INFAMOUS “PETE BARBOGLIO BAR”
Jan’s son Angus is carrying on the family tradition with his signature collection of bar tools. Angus’ great grandfather was the owner of the infamous “Pete Barboglio Bar” located in Juarez, Mexico in 1910, recently identified during the 2010 Mexican Centennial. In keeping with the tradition the bar tools designed by great grandson Angus are sculptural, crude, handsome & elegant. Angus’ work represents sort of a genetic memory…. objects do not come out of nowhere.

Pet Barboglio BarTHE PETE BARBOGLIO BAR IN JUAREZ MEXICO AROUND 1910
Great Grandfather Pete Barboglio has been the inspiration for great grandson Angus’ bar tools collection. His great grandfather was the owner of the infamous “Pete Barboglio” Bar in Juarez, Mexico around 1910, identified during the 2010 Mexican Centennial.  He later went on to own other historic bars in Juarez and El Paso, including the “Big Kid Bar” and the “Gem Café” in C. Juarez. These bars must have spun off a sort of genetic memory to grandson Angus.
